Hi Paula,
This is a very beautiful sampler, and I love that it was stitched by a new bride. I love samplers, and I just got back from Williamsburg, where I saw a wonderful display of samplers at the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Center. It was amazing to see the beautiful samplers. One of my favorites was stitched by a six year old girl – and it really was very impressive! Also on display, was a wonderful collection of folk art portraits, many of children that look like the beautiful Izannah Walker dolls that you make! Thanks for the great posts, and by the way, the heart cake looks delicious! Susie Fox
Susie,
Thank you! I had never seen “bride of” stitched on a sampler before. Lucky you to have been in Williamsburg! I love it there and the Folk Art Center is so amazing. I wish I lived closer so that I could go more often. I suppose that the gardens are starting to come alive too. There are several fenced gardens in Colonial Williamsburg that I just adore!
❤ Paula
