During the past few weeks I have been walking straight into a fairy tale each morning, as I make the short journey between my kitchen and studio doors. The weather has been changing the story, from a tale about a misty elven forest to one about the ice queen’s glittering domain, but one thing remains the same… they have all been mornings when anything can happen, because there is magic in the air!
The End…
There’s Magic in the Air…

Dear Paula , The pictures of your snowy garden remind me of Robert Frost’s immortal poetry. Inspired by the seasons , and speaking of the places he knew and loved. As soon as I looked at those snow laden trees and the misty hillsides, I felt such a pang of longing to be there in it, to feel its cold on my face, to see the smoke drifting from the chimney, I never got over my one and only visit to New England, so thank you for those glimpses of a place I feel sure I called home in a previous life. My garden is heading towards Autumn now, I have planted my Spring annuals, and root vegetables carrots and parsnips, with potatoes and peas to follow soon. It’s a very small garden by any standards let alone your 60feet of fresh air and sunshine. It suits me now ,age and the passage of years being considered, so enjoy it to the fullest and may your harvests be bountiful All the best from Australia Janet Garrard
Janet,
The snow has finally melted off of the garden, but some of it is still lingering in the shady spots behind the barns. Today was very cold and windy, not spring like at all, but eventually the warmer weather will arrive and my gardens will come alive again. It was a good day to be snug and warm in the studio, with a roaring fire in my wood stove.
